The GTR 55K offers a majestic and rhythmic journey through the heart of the Norwegian high country. Starting at Vestlia, the route begins with a gentle stretch along the scenic Ustedalsfjorden before ascending toward the peaks of Birgithovda and Ustetind. After approximately 18 km, you reach the first checkpoint and aid station at the historic Tuva Turisthytte. From here, the course stretches further into the vast, open landscape toward Vibu, before turning back toward Birgithovda and the second aid station at Hakkesetstølen at the 40 km mark. The final stages take you across the ski bridge at Kikut and through the landscape of Bruslettostølen and Nystølen, culminating in a fast, flat finish toward the town center where you can empty the tank for the final stretch.
